Nursery Sneak Peek ~ Gray Crib, Breathable Mattress & A Blank Slate

With our move-in date merely a couple weeks ahead of our babe's due date, I was prepared to bring babe domicile from the hospital with her nursery still packed in boxes. After all, everyone says newborns don't demand much right abroad anyhow.

Simply subsequently nearly two weeks of settling into our new place and no baby equally of yet, I'm happy to study that nosotros've started putting together a nursery! I cannot tell you how excited I am to tackle the offset room makeover in our new firm.

I'yard putting the finishing touches on my design programme for the nursery and will share the mood board with y'all shortly (I'm and so excited about it!!!), but today I'm giving yous a sneak peek at the progress nosotros've fabricated in the plant nursery already this week.

We decided we were moving shortly after finding out we were expecting, and it'due south been tough for me to have the patience to hold off on setting up a nursery. For someone who LOVES decorating, having to wait nine months is torture! Knowing we were moving fifty-fifty helped agree me back from buying all of the decor ahead of fourth dimension – I tin't believe I managed to wait!

We came home from each baby shower and garage sale this summer and immediately packed all the new baby items into boxes labeled "nursery." Although it was a truthful exercise in patience to keep it all boxed upward, information technology's been a treat to unbox everything at present that we are finally moved! Nosotros're all set with newborn essentials, a crib, a mattress and tons of adorable outfits!

The Pastel Green Before

This room was painted a pastel green when we moved in. I was prepared to live with information technology similar that for a while, but David–in his sweetness efforts to go above and beyond for his significant wife with super swollen feet–offered to pigment the nursery last weekend.

As of a week agone, here's how awesomely messy this room looked:

A Blank Slate

Thanks to a few hours of painting, the greenish walls are at present a thing of the past, and nosotros have a cute bare slate to work with. It makes me and then happy to have a room painted and fix to decorate!

I know white walls aren't super exciting, but I really wanted a blank slate that could be the backdrop for pops of brilliant colors. With white walls, fair carpet and a grey crib, I take tons of freedom to incorporate smaller accessories in pinks, purples, blues, greens, etc.

Since I could go into labor whatsoever solar day now, I doubtfulness this nursery will be "finished" for a while. But for now, my goal is to at least set up the nuts.

We started past assembling this beautiful grey crib which was a gift from my parents. Isn't information technology pretty?

Then we unboxed our new crib mattress–the Newton Baby Wovenaire Crib Mattress. As a first-time mom, I take been bombarded with choices and selecting a crib mattress was no easy feat! What sold me on Newton'south mattress is that information technology is 100% breathable, washable and recyclable.

Information technology is free of chemicals and it is specifically designed to allow maximum airflow through the mattress (this is supposed to help baby'south sleep longer and more than comfortably, which I certainly hope to be true!).

Here's a quick wait at the other corner of this room. David and Freya were testing out the recliner. Freya approves and has been lounging in it in the evenings while I unpack and sort through babe things.

Now that the painting is done and the room is cleaned upwards, I feel like I have a bare slate prepare for decorating. I cannot await to add fun colors and make this a beautiful space for our piffling girl.

I'one thousand non sure exactly what will all cease up in hither, but we're testing out these fun pink curtains and this lilliputian blue chest I've had for a while. It's holding baby apparel for at present until I find a larger dresser to use equally storage that can double as a changing table.

There'due south plenty left to practise to plow this into the nursery I've been planning in my head for these past ix months, just for now, I'm just and so happy we have the basics gear up to become and a serene room to bring our baby home to. I know she won't be sleeping in here right abroad, only it's yet prissy to have the basics set up!

Crash-land Update

Today marks 39 weeks + 2 days! As a huge planner, I'thousand then anxious not knowing exactly when we'll become to meet our baby but, as the doctor said yesterday, information technology could really exist any day now! Our bags are packed, the car seat is installed and the nursery is fifty-fifty somewhat gear up up now. I don't think we'll ever be gear up and nosotros're certainly non every bit prepared as I would ideally be, simply I'm sure we'll survive!

I've been blest with a healthy pregnancy and am feeling cracking! My only complaints are not sleeping quite every bit soundly and having super swollen anxiety these by few weeks.
